OpenTelemetry (often referred to as OTel) is an open-source observability framework. It is a CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) project and has been on the <strong>incubating</strong> maturity level since May the 7th of 2019. Historically, OpenTelemetry was started by combining two existing projects in the observability space <a href="https://opentracing.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OpenTracing</a> and <a href="https://opencensus.io" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OpenCensus</a> .</p>
